ALPINE ISD CREDIT BY EXAMINATION FOR ACCELERATION
Alpine ISD offers students the opportunity to accelerate in subject areas through exams aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and provided through Texas Tech University and the University of Texas.
Students in grades 1-5 may accelerate a full grade level by successfully taking exams in math, science, social studies, and language arts. Secondary students may accelerate in a single subject area or in multiple subject areas.
Students are eligible for acceleration prior to receiving instruction. Students are able to accelerate or receive high school credit for grades or classes if they achieve the required % score prior to the beginning of the school year. Homeschool students are eligible to participate in credit by exam opportunities.
