Alpine High School’s Land Judging Team Places 2^nd at Area Competition 

Alpine High School’s Land judging team placed 2nd at the area contest in Stephenville advancing to state. Josh Criddle had the 1st high individual score and Calan Ahrens had the 5th high individual score. Other team members are Forrest Gatewood and Ben Hager.

FFA Students Successfully Compete in Leadership Development Events

Ten Alpine High School FFA Students won big at District contest. The students traveled to Pecos to compete in Leadership Contest and six advanced to Area competition. The Radio Broadcast team of Jayci Temple, Taylor Moore and Forest Gatewood won first place. A second radio team consisting of Courtney Tandy, Kirsten Criddle and Aaron Macias placed eighth. Calan Ahrens placed first in the Job Interview contest.  Nikki Woodward won second place and Rosemary Davis placed seventh in the Senior Creed Speaking event. Kersten Criddle placed third in Junior Creed Speaking.  The Quiz team consisting of Nikki Woodward, Rosemary Davis, Taylor Moore, Jayci Temple and Forest Gatewood placed first.  Ben Hager received some value experience with the contest as he traveled as an alternate. The Radio team, Quiz team, Job Interview and second place Senior Creed speaker traveled to Big Spring to compete at the Area level contest. The radio and quiz teams finished 11^th. Nikki placed 7^th in Sr. Creed speaking and Calan took 5^th in Job Interview.  “This is a great group of students who are really outstanding young leaders,” said Doug Fox, Alpine Ag. Science teacher.
