_____________________________________________________________As the last step in the 5E process, “Evaluate”, students in Alpine High School’s English III class present their graphic pictorial narrative of a character from the novel Ellen Foster. Students exhibited their understanding of Kaye Gibbons’s novel, specifically appearance, personality, socio-economic status, setting, timeframe, change, symbolism, allusions, conflict, and social/historical commentary concentrating on how the cultural and personal traits shaped the specific character’s identity.Pictured here presenting their character Mavis, are Brittany Gonzalez and Everie Portillo.__________________________________________________________________
